Blogger is definitely not equal as journalist.

Every day we shared stories, experiences, tastes, the things that bring about world issues, politics, and events, and other crimes. Because of the existence of blogs and journals. But there are some people label that bloggers are journalists.

Reason why people thinking of that
The reason why some people think like that because they think the way they convey the same information, whether bloggers or journalists. There is no doubt they are the same but the delivery of information communicated between bloggers and journalists are totally different. So, what is the difference between bloggers and journalists?

Differrent between bloggers and journalists
-Blogger is a person who writes a personal diary and shared to anyone who visited his blog about his experiences with the public.
-Journalist is the one who writes, collects and disseminates information about current events such as world affairs, crime, politics, the problems of society and so on.

Finally, the task of a blogger is very different from the work as journalists. Although they have a way of delivery of the same information through the media, but its contain information that is altogether different.

Is the blogging is the new form of journalism?
To me, no.

Blogger is a person who update and post something into their blog, in the internet. A person is not called as a blogger if he post something on newspaper, that is not a blogger. Anybody can become a blogger. Even the person is 5 years old.

While journalist ; journalist is a person who working with media, whether it is traditional media or electronic media. They write certain topic, based on fact.

To become a journalist, there a certain criteria the journalist should follow. Yes, they learn this before they can officially become the journalist. Maybe in the university, college. Different with blogging, anybody can become a bloggers. With a condition, they can acces to the internet. Blogging doesnt need you to study something for a specific year.

In the new era, yes there are some of the bloggers, who does not like the mainstream media. So they become a "journalist" by writing the news in their own blog. They like to call themselve independent journalist. Some of them, try to tell the real fact, about certain news, that sometimes censored in mainstream media. Yes, this is an example of good bloggers who want to be the journalist. But not all of the journalist is try to tell the real story, some of them just like to write something, that is not true and even, that is not a fact. This is the main reason why i don't want to acknowledge blogger as a journalist.

What I am trying to say here is, I am not agree with the statement, that bloggers are journalist. Yes, they can become a journalist, if they really want to. But then, they must learn, the ethic and criteria, before they call themselve a journalist.

In a counclusion, we can see, blogging is subjective, while journalism, it is more specific, in term of writing about certain topic. A blogger too must be responsible of what they writing, as much as journalist responsible of what they wrote.

Nowadays, people share things in blogging. But, what are the things they sharing? That is the thing that make difference between bloggers and journalist. There are some bloggers that actually act as journalist. The one that shares info about current event, trends, peoples and provide commentary or news on a particular subject. So, as you all can see, not all bloggers are just blogging, there are some sharing information.


Actually, blogger is the person who writes a blog either to financially benefit the blogger or to promote the blogger's favorite causes. And a journalist collects and disseminates information about current events, people, trends, and issues. Reporters are one type of journalist. They They create reports as a profession for broadcast or publication in mass media such as newspapers, televisions, radio, magazines, documentary films and the internet.

As conclusion, sometimes, bloggers are journalist. It is us that judges them based on what they wrote.

Blogger are not a Journalists

Yes. It is not the same. Blogger and journalists are totally different. I found this video on youtube, it explain a bit about the different.



So, you know that it is different. "Journalists is the profession of reporting or photographing or editing news stories for one of the media" as said in wordnetweb.princeton.edu. It's mean that, journalists is a job for someone to write a facts on something like news. They also need or must write for earn money because it is a job for them. They do research and interview for them to write it in their article. Their article are protected so if they write wrong they will not be jailed easily.

Bloggers, are different. They write anything he/she wanted to. They can give opinion on any article. They also free to write anything that they want. About their life, expression, ideas, and anything what the want. But, if they touch the sensitive issue, they can be sue by the government if they write any bad about it.

So, for me, bloggers and journalists are different. Bloggers is someone who can write anything that they want to write. Journalists is a profession that they need to write an article for their company.

Blogger VS Journalist...

Personally, blogger and journalist actually are not the same. Even though these people are working on writing, but, actually they are quite different.

As we all know, journalist is a person who write a journal. For me, journal usually contain a story of a lifetime of a writer. Journal is actually a diary that was written by a person to tell everybody about how their journey through the life. The first journal was founded in year 1600.

Blogger is a person who is responsible to write their blog, and this blog is not only about themselves. Blog is more open than a journal. Blog don't have a barrier for the writers. They can write anything they want as long as it's not touch the sensitive issues. We can write about hobbies, democracy, or business in the blog. We also can write about our life. Sometimes, blog can be a best source when you need to look for an answer because they have many opinion from all over the world. You also can comment to their post. Blogger also can exchange their opinion and ideas because every person have different things to tell.

As a conclusion, either blogger or journalist, they are the persons who have stories to tell. Their stories contain many important massage that we can take as a guide for brighten our life. We must appreciate them and take as many lessons as we can from their stories.
